This year we are hoping to utilize about 100 volunteers, so we really appreciate
your time and effort, and welcome your enthusiasm to join us!

There are 2 different ways that you may sign up as a ScanFest volunteer:

(1) 
4 HOURS (OR MORE)
You will receive FREE parking in Two Wachovia Center Parking Deck,
and FREE admission to ScanFest 2009


(2) 
1.5 HOURS TO 3 HOURS
You will receive FREE admission to ScanFest 2009

When selecting your volunteer shifts, please make sure that the shift times
DO NOT overlap.

Please plan to arrive at the
Volunteer Station (located inside the Wachovia Atrium, adjacent to
the escalators and close to the Two Wachovia Center Parking Deck)
at least 5 minutes prior to
the starting time of your shift, to allow enough time for check-in and a brief orientation.

ScanFest 2009 will take place on Saturday November 7, 10:00am-5:00pm,
and volunteer help is needed from 8:00am until about 7:00pm-8:00pm.

VOLUNTEER ASSIGNMENT DESCRIPTIONS:
~ Admission booth and raffle ticket sales at various entrances : Must feel comfortable to meet and greet visitors, give directions, answer questions, charge admission, and handle sales of raffle tickets.
~ Raffle Prize Table: Distribute raffle prizes once claimed by the winners. Note: Must be at least 21.
~ Cafe/Food court: Food & beverage preparation and sales, order taking, restocking, cleaning up spills, etc. Restaurant/cafe experience is a plus. Must feel comfortable to meet and greet visitors, give directions and answer questions.
~ Victor Borge: Oversee the Victor Borge centennial celebration exhibit.
~ Children's Activities: Assist with children's activities such as crafts, games, etc.
~ Cultural Exhibits: In need of people with Scandinavian pride, who are willing to share their country and culture with ScanFest visitors; people able to lend items; set up the cultural display, and/or be available to answer questions throughout the day  and be responsible for artifacts on display. Exibits for ScanFest 2009 are: Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden, plus "knyppling" exhibit.
~ Festival Breakdown: Duties may include: breakdown of stations and decorations, reloading equipment into cars and trailers, etc.
~ Festival Setup: Assist with Festival setup prior to the event. Duties may include: setting up the various Festival areas, signage and decoration placement, help volunteers and vendors load and unload festival supplies and merchandise from their cars/trailers, running errands and other miscellaneous assistance.
~ Volunteer Station Assistant: Assist the Volunteer Coordinator at the Volunteer Station, or wherever the need is the greatest. Duties may include: checking volunteers in and out, charge admission, handle raffle ticket sales, respond to questions, running errands, helping out wherever needed etc. Must feel comfortable to meet and greet visitors, give directions and answer questions.
