When selecting your volunteer shifts, please make sure that the shift times DO NOT overlap.

Please plan to arrive at the Volunteer Station (located inside Carolina Courts at the SAGA info/welcome
booth)
at least 5 minutes prior to the starting time of your shift, to allow enough time for check-in.

ScanFest 2011 will take place on Saturday November 5, 10:00am-5:00pm,
and volunteer help is needed from 8:00am until 7:00pm.

VOLUNTEER ASSIGNMENT DESCRIPTIONS:
~ Children's Activities: Assist with children's activities such as crafts, games, helping Santa etc.
~ Cultural Exhibits: In need of people with Scandinavian pride, who are willing to share their country and culture with ScanFest visitors; people able to lend items; set up the cultural display, and/or be available to answer questions throughout the day and be responsible for artifacts on display. Exibits for ScanFest 2011 are: Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden.
~ Festival Breakdown: Duties may include: breakdown of stations and decorations, reloading equipment into cars and trailers, etc.
~ Festival Setup: Assist with Festival setup prior to the event. Duties may include: setting up the various Festival areas, signage and decoration placement, help volunteers and vendors load and unload festival supplies and merchandise from their cars/trailers, running errands and other miscellaneous assistance.
~ Floaters/Volunteer Station: Assist the Volunteer Coordinator at the Volunteer Station, or wherever the need is the greatest. Duties may include: checking volunteers in and out, handle raffle ticket sales, respond to questions, running errands, helping out wherever needed etc. Must feel comfortable to meet and greet visitors, give directions and answer questions.
~ Movie Operator: Run kids movies and tourist dvds throughout the day. Must be tech savvy and at least 16 years of age.
~ Silent Auction: Handle silent auction of gift baskets. Note. Must be at least 21.
~ Taste & Cafe Scandinavia: Food & beverage preparation and sales, order taking, restocking, bussing tables, cleaning up spills, etc. Restaurant or cafe experience is a plus. Must feel comfortable to meet and greet visitors, give directions and answer questions.
~ Welcome & Info: Must feel comfortable to meet and greet visitors at the main entrance and/or inside the festival venue, give directions, answer questions, and handle sales of SAGA membership, secret Elf school registration etc. Note. Must be at least 21.
